Task2 - Environment >> THE CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES

"THE CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES"

Topic: there are many environmental issues facing Vietnam. In your opinion what are the causes and effects of the biggest environmental issues that Vietnam must confront.

In the contemporary era, the environmental pollution is the most difficult issue that Vietnam has to overcome. The rise of numerous factories, manufacturing corporations and industrial estates engenders grave pollution to the surroundings and the life of people.

An essential reason as well as the biggest issue for environmental problems is the construction of industrial zones which creates air and water pollution. Due to the ambitions of the leaders of industrial parks who want to earn a huge amount of money, industrial water waste is sent into adjacent rivers or lakes. This does not go through the waste water treatment to avoid extra cost and the result of this action is water pollution. Additionally, noxious smoke is emitted by the mills as well as the industrial parks which also leads to air pollution.

Consequently, inhabitants residing close to these areas suffer the most serious effects. Factories can affect people's health especially children and the old people for instance, who have a lack of fresh water to drink and live in a toxic atmosphere. Another serious result is the ozone layer has been perforated. This explains why global warming occurs and causes the ice melting phenomenon in Arctic areas.

Ultimately, Vietnam has to confront the largest concern which is the environmental issue. To find the best measure to alleviate these issues, the Government should advance strict policies and punishments like jail or capital punishment for serious circumstances. Only in that way, the surroundings can be defended and the Government can prevent the environmental pollution.
