Task2 - Health >> Sports Facilities Affecting Public Health

"Sports Facilities Affecting Public Health"

In the present age, sports facilities are playing an increasingly important role in people's health. But in the meantime whether it is the best way to increase the public health is sparking a heated debate. Some people argue that increasing the number of sports facilities has fundamentally beneficial impacts on improving public health, while many others contend that this would have little positive effect and many other measures should be taken as well.

A convincing argument can be made about the influence of the number of sports facilities on human well-being. Such facilities not only provide a huge opportunity for people to exercise, but also encourage people to attend sports clubs. To start with, it is an undeniable fact that increasing the sport facilities leads to the higher use of these facilities by people. In fact, in many large cities a lack of sports clubs is one of the major problems that prevent exercise. Further and even more importantly, though, enhancing the number of sports clubs would obviously be a motivation for people and would result in a tendency for them to participate in these kinds of activities. Many people would ,therefore, assume that this is an efficient way to increase the sports facilities.

However, expanding sports facilities does not always have yield such positive results. Many other measures can be taken to improve human health which are much more effective. First and foremost, the quality of sports facilities should be developed instead of the quantity. In many communities there are plenty of facilities that are inefficient. Moreover, it is clear that raising public awareness about the importance of their physical and psychological health plays a pivotal role in societies. Nowadays, people's lifestyles have become sedentary and governments should educate people about the major dangers that threaten their health. One particularly salient instance of this is the inhabitants of Tehran - a considerable number of sports facilities have been provided in Tehran, whereas only a few of them are being used by inhabitants. Thus, it can be seen that there are many other activities that should be taken into consideration.

From what has been discussed above, we can safely draw the conclusion that there is some truth in both arguments. Overall, I am convinced that the latter opinion (please define the latter opinion) is more reasonable and without a doubt many other effective measures can be taken to enhance public health.
