Task2 - Lifestyle >> Talent Versus Effort

"Talent Versus Effort"

There is a general belief that some people are born with specific talents, such as an ability with music or sport, while others are not born talented. However, it is also claimed that any child can be taught how to become a great sportsperson or musician.

Albert Einstein said "Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." We are all geniuses. It is just a matter of perspective.

What Einstein meant was that if we look at a person's ability from one aspect alone, we can never be able to push that person to his limit. It is true, some people can access more brainpower than others, however, our mind like any part of our body, can be trained to be better. There are countless examples of people succeeding against all odds, succeeding even with only half of their brain functioning. Louis Pasteur, the very first virologist and a person ahead of his time continued to make incredible discoveries even when he lost half of his brain at the age of 46 after a stroke. We can infer from history that intelligence doesn't necessarily mean you have to have a large brain or high IQ. You just need to push yourself a little harder.

Thomas Edison once said and I quote: "Genius is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration". It took him more than 1000 tries until he finally got it right and invented the light bulb. If he had given up, we would still be living with candles and lanterns. The reason behind this was that he found his inspiration and he had all the perspiration in the world to pursue it to the very end. Therefore, if you can find out what you want, what you love to do, then do not give up. Failure is just one step closer to success. Even Henry Ford-the father of the great Ford empire today-was bankrupted 7 times before he was successful. The main thing is, he did not give up.

Success is not for people who quit midway. A true genius is the person who does everything thoroughly. By that, everyone can be a genius, but not everyone has the heart to become one.

Another great motivational essay. You have used three excellent quotes to support your opinion. Well done.
